Dear Friend,

Jehangir Ali Khan of IMC
October 8th marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Pakistan that killed more than 80,000 people and displaced millions. The level of destruction was unlike anything I had ever seen.

I am proud to have been part of an International Medical Corps team that responded so quickly to the disaster. For the past year, we have worked tirelessly to provide survivors with health care, essential supplies, shelter, and improved water and sanitation facilities.

Although IMC has been helping people rebuild their lives, much more needs to be done. We are reestablishing badly damaged water and sanitation systems and are also assisting people through our basic health unit in Jabba, the largest camp that is still open. This camp houses the most vulnerable population which still cannot go back to their homes. IMC also is operating six government basic health units that serve those who have returned to their homes in remote regions where no other health facilities exist. This effort is directly contributing to government plans to reestablish and upgrade local health systems. With your support, we can continue to improve the lives of survivors and help them move on with their lives.

Sincerely,

Jehangir Ali Khan
IMC Pakistan Country Director
